History

In 2018, Newcastle Vintage & Classic Car Club and Maitland Steam and Antique Machinery Association decided to work together to host a Hunter Valley family fun day that combined a place for swap and bric a brac traders to sell to the public, an event for car clubs to display vintage and veteran vehicles and an opportunity for other activities and displays including antique engines, sheep shearing and operating heritage live steam engines  - all with a country fair feeling and atmosphere with activities and displays appealing to all members of the family.

The 2018 event was only a limited success for both the organisers and stallholders mainly due to the short preparation time resulting in limited advertising and promotion and the forecast threat of exceptionally bad weather.

Both Newcastle Vintage & Classic Car Club and Maitland Steam and Antique Machinery Association would like to thank the stallholders, car clubs,  Maitland City Council, and in fact all the participants for their support in 2018 and hopefully into the future.

Heritage Motor and Steam Fair 19th October 2019

Newcastle Vintage & Classic Car Club and Maitland Steam and Antique Machinery Association have again decided to have a Heritage Motor and Steam Fair on 19th October 2019 at the Maitland Steamfest Rally Ground.

This year we have started much earlier (January) with our planning and publicity for this potentially annual signature Hunter Valley event.

The 2019 event will build on the efforts of 2018, with improvements based on lessons learned in our inaugural year. Hopefully our 2018 stallholders and participants will again give their support and participate in an improved event.

2019 will have a car boot sale added to the mix and the organizers are actively seeking other activities and displays to enhance this family event.

The 2019 event also has it's own Facebook page , extensive social media promotion and online sales for reservation of stall, swap meet and car boot sites.

Maitland City Council has recently renovated, profiled and drained the main display area with an extensive new hard stand area making for a better experience for both stallholders and members of the public.

The organizers look forward to a successful event in 2019 with the support of stallholders, exhibitors, car clubs, our volunteers and of course members of the public attending to enjoy this fun family day and support all participants.
